Let 'Em Go

I was recently in a conversation where this thought was discussed: If a person has hurt you, don't give them a second chance to hurt you again.

Here are a few of my thoughts on that.

• As a Christian, my responsibility in any relationship is to model the characteristics of Jesus to the other person. Matthew 5:16
• I should be careful before committing to any relationship. Proverbs 4:23
• It's ok to let people leave your life. Some relationships are seasonal. Bishop T. D. Jakes says that some people are like a building, and others are like the scaffolding. You get the idea. John 6:67
• We should treat others the way we would treat Jesus himself. Colossians 3:16-17
